It’s Apple Day!

Lovely Husband has just come back from the village hall where they are selling and participating in apple 🍎 related activities.

Our village has its own community orchard. Today in the orchard villagers can take along their apples from home to be pressed into juice. Freshly squashed apple 🍎 juice is delicious πŸ˜‹ LH came back with a few different varieties of cookers and two cakes…

I believe gort means small πŸ˜ƒ It’s a Somerset/Devonshire word.

All the money raised gets put into our orchard funds.

  1. I love this idea, unfortunately up north we don’t have such things. We only have the farmers market, or what I call the market lol. I started growing a few apple trees from seed a few years ago, one is getting really tall. One of them seems stunted but looks okay for now, I may Bonsi it and keep it dwarfed. The cakes look delicious, and I expect a full review of them LOL.

    1. Lol! Just cut into both… the smaller one is very moist and I can see apple in it. Had a crumb and tasted lovely. The other larger cake is more dry and some might prefer it with butter, it’s also very sweet. To sweet for me. Obviously I’m sweet enough ha ha!
