Sock #1

I’m really pleased with the progress on my first ever sock. Working from the top down I am now beyond the heel heading for the toes. Get me!!

Using 4 ply and 2.5mm dpn’s (double pointed needles).

  1. These are wonderful, Tracey! So funny, because I taught myself to knit socks this year too. I started in the end of 2016 and somewhen at the beginning of 2017 I made my first pair of socks. Meanwhile I knitted 11 more pairs and am on the 12th. So have fun knitting socks! πŸ™‚

I wish you a merry Christmas for you and your loved ones!

    1. Thank you Liisa πŸ™‚ It’s good to know you love knitting socks so much. I think they would make great Christmas presents in 2018. I’ll have to get the needles clicking in January πŸ™‚ πŸŽ„

  2. To me the part you’re knitting now is the fastest. It’s like, after I finish the heel flap and gusset, suddenly in no time the sock is ready. Enjoy your knitting and then wearing it (or giving it to someone if it’s not for you)! It looks great!

    1. That’s good to know πŸ™‚ I really want to get on with the second one. Do you have a good pattern you would recommend Kat? The one I’m using is ok but I’d like to try another. Thanks very muchπŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŒ²πŸŽ

      1. I have a book by Ann Budd “Getting started knitting socks” and I use her patterns. Very clearly wtitten and explained plus there are patterns for different weight of yarn and gauge.
