The church bells are ringing. Bertie and I are cosy on this very dull winter’s day. The lovely smell of a chicken and apricot casserole permeates the cottage.

    1. Hi πŸ‘‹ mine used to die too as I had no idea how to look after them but I kept trying and many years later I am more successful. I suggest you get a spider plant as they are easy to care for and I think they would fair well in Australia. Put it on a shelf rather than a windowsill as the Australian sun may burn houseplants. Succulents are good to grow too and need very little watering.

  1. Bertie looks very sweet. Dogs are family. Your home is lovely and bright and your plants look very healthy and lush. You’d never know it was winter.

    1. Thank you so much πŸ™‚ Bertie is most definitely family πŸ™‚ For a little dog he has a big personality. Lol! I’m pleased the photos don’t show how dusty the plants are! We have a Rayburn and a wood burner which create a lot of dust but go along way in helping to keep us cosy πŸƒ 🌳 🌱

  2. Bertie is so adorable! I love dogs with bushy “eyebrows” πŸ™‚ Reminds me of my parents’ dog Tosia who sadly passed last year – she was the sweetest, most gentle dog ever and a bit similar to Bertie, just in light brown colour. Give him a hug from me please!

  3. Oh I know how it feels… had many pets through the years and miss them all. So I focus my full attention on the ones that are with me now to give them the best life possible ☺
And Labradors are such affectionate, great digs, no wonder you were friends!
