More WP problems

Firstly, clicking on ‘like’ often takes me to a blank screen…

Secondly, everybody’s reblogging button has disappeared…

Apparently I’m not the only one with the reblog problem but I don’t know if anyone else has the like issue.

Just thought I’d let you know.

  1. Thank you, I’m relatively new to all of this. So I’m not sure how to go about solving the problem. I find that the blog behaves differently depending which device you access it from. Very annoying!

Any future advice is greatly appreciated!

  2. I don’t know why WP has been eliminating reblog buttons (I do not have the problem with the like button). However, there is a ‘long cut’ for reblogging – open a new post on your own blog, link to the site from you are sharing and to the particular post you want to share, quote a paragraph and/or share a picture from the post you are sharing. Last thing before publishing turn off the comments on your post, because all you are doing is sharing, and you want comments directed to the creator of the post. It takes a little longer having to do everything yourself than if the reblog button were available, but it can be done.

    1. Usually, on a person’s proper blog page, i.e. not the white page that often comes up, there is a reblog button to the left of the like button at the bottom of a post but before the comment section. Clicking on it brings up a little window where you can write something if you want before pressing on reblog again.

  3. I have several issues with the like- button myself, depending on platform and application. I use Firefox in Ububtu, and the same thing occurs as you mention here. It helps (for me) to right click the like button, choose open link in new tab, then refresh the new tab and click the like button again. Give it a try, it might work. Not very practical, but better than nothing. The reblog button has been gone for almost a week…

  4. I noticed all the posts I’ve reblogged are now missing the information and links, too. I was hoping it was a temporary glitch that would be fixed (without my breaking other things trying to fix it myself.) Glad to know how it can still be done. I had trouble with the Like button for a bit. When I clicked it after reading a post, it seemed to work but when I came across the same post in the Reader, the Like wasn’t there. So I clicked it again, but have no idea how many times it’s happened. My frustration tolerance isn’t up for these extra challenges, heh. πŸ’œ

  5. This exact same thing happens to me on my desktop computer! It doesn’t let me Like or Reblog anyone’s posts πŸ˜”. I’m using the Chrome browser, but it’s been out of date for a while, because I don’t like the new Mac OS versions, so I don’t upgrade and to avoid compatibility issues, I refrain from upgrading anything lol. My WP mobile app is my best bet, but even then, the visibility feels limited to me; it’s hard to explain, but because it’s not a browser, I can check my notifications and my feed, but it’s not like I can pull up someone’s blog at random from there. And sometimes the app is a little flaky, showing me that I haven’t followed a blog or liked a post when actually I have, etc. And the app takes forever to load comments, so commenting can be tricky (because sometimes it freezes/crashes and I have to restart it πŸ™„). I don’t have any solutions, I’m afraid πŸ’ž. But I wanted to let you know you’re definitely not alone 😘❀️

      1. Wow! Yeah I’ve done a little of both, and blogging on the phone definitely has its challenges lol. Autosuggest is nice, but having to type out words with only my thumb, and trying to teach autosuggest words that it doesn’t already know…yeah, it’s a lot easier on a regular computer lol πŸ˜Šβ€οΈπŸ’œ
