Sunday update

The sun is shining here in the land of The Sumner People. Makes a nice change.

Here’s a blanket update. There’s an addition of eight rows to each blanket since I last posted. This is part of the CAL hosted by Eleonora over at Coastal Crochet blog.

I hooked up this mandala yesterday. It needs a light steam but at least the ends are all tucked away…

And the biggest socks I’ve made thus far ~ UK size 12.

And this…

Another stashbusting blanket! A long wave stitched pattern using more typical Tracey colours.

I’m wondering what to do with this. Measures about 8″ × 18″ I made it years ago with no particular thing in mind. I’ve just washed it. It’s using handspun and commercial yarn.

It followed on from creating this which is also a mix of handspun and commercial yarn. I haven’t worn it for ages as the bat wing sleeves are annoying…

20180325_113745

I guess I made it about 16 years ago.

I trapped the cuff in the door so that you can see the amount of fabric that hangs below the arm. The jumper contains a lot of handspun that is also hand dyed. I need to do something with but haven’t figured what yet.

So much to consider while I keep on stitching.

Thank you so much for all your comments on my last craft update post. Your love and kindness greatly encouraged me. I’ve re started my faith journaling and finding that really helpful.

I certainly have lots to do to keep me busy 😆

Thanks for visiting me here in my little craft sanctuary  😃 TTFN ❤

Monday update of crafty meanderings

This is some of what I’ve been creating this week…

I found a mandala that had been started quite sometime ago and was about a quarter towards completion, so I finished it. I made the pattern up as I went along…

As I enjoyed it so much I thought I needed to expand my skills so I purchased this…

20180312_1428261860400318.jpg

It’s published by Interweave Press so I knew it would be good.  As soon as it arrived I hooked up this one…

I started and finished a pair of socks. Go me!…

Eleonora continues to beaver away over at Coastal Crochet blog designing new rows for us each week. Here’s my blankets with their latest rows added…

There’s a couple of other items that I haven’t managed to work on this week. I have been spinning and I’m about halfway through a 350 gram bag mix of merino and silk from John Arbon Textiles. I can’t get the colour right but here it is thus far…

20180312_145637.jpg

I’m struggling at the moment and I’m not sure how to put it into words. It’s a lot of things and most of it underpinned by lack of self worth. I’m also affected by a lack of understanding by a person this week of the limitations of my sensory processing disorder. The person does not read my blog.

I’m letting you know as I sense myself withdrawing into myself even more than usual. I think it might help me to acknowledge this.

So that’s it for now. Thanks so much for dropping by ❤

All thanks to  Eleonora . If you love daffodils go check out Eleonora’s here , aren’t they beautiful?  I love the way she has photographed them 💛💛

There’s other crafty happenings on the bobbins, hooks and needles but they can wait for another time 🙂

Bye for now 🌹🌻🌼❤🐤💐

The stashbusting blankets CAL etc…

I’m been busy hooking away on my blankets today. Here they are…

20180223_145042

Remember I showed you this a few days ago that is inspired by Eleonora’s CAL (for my seven year old granddaughter)…

Well, I’ve started another one for my five year old grandson. I’ve just finished the front…

20180223_144934

There’s a few other things on the go as well. I’ve nearly finished weaving this…

…and this second sock…

15193981560441964775770

There’s also a couple of other items but they can wait for another day.

I’m really working hard on the stashbusting malarkey. Once the second jumper and the woven throw are completed I have an idea for starting another stashbusting blanket. It seems that I can’t have too many blankets 😆

Bye for now and much love from me 👋 🌼 ❤

Another finished item :)

I started this jumper last Tuesday evening and would have finished it by Friday but we had the most wonderful of interruptions – grandchildren, daughter and son in law 🙂 – for three days.

This jumper is for my granddaughter who turned seven last year. The sleeve colours are her choice. I made the pattern (as in the shape) up as I went along. Do you recognise the colourful pattern? Yes, it’s from Eleonora’s crochet-along Coastal blanket stash buster  After I had finished last week’s rows I got to thinking about how it might look as the back and front of a jumper.

I mostly used Stylecraft Special dk which isn’t a yarn I would usually use for a garment, but I am stashbusting. I left the neck plain as I thought a picot edge could be annoying. I adding a bit of picot to the sleeve edges and a crocheted pompom edge to the bottom of the garment.

I had hoped to finish it while they were here but I was too tired in the evenings. I think Lovely Miss will be pleased.

I now need to crochet the latest rows on my blankets. Bye 👋 for now 🌹🌻🌼❤🐤🐕🐶

Seaside stash busting blanket CAL week 4

Hello Lovelies,

First I want to thank you all for your lovely comments regarding An accidental hat 😆 You are all a lovely lot 🙂

I’ve just completed the rows from yesterday’s latest installment by the lovely Eleonora of Coastal Crochet blog . This week was another new pattern to me. I have made ripples before but not lovely long ones like this that remind me of a calm ocean.

I started a second blanket as I am eager to use up my acrylic stash. These are the colours I’m using for the second blanket…

20180210_123225

And here are the two blankets thus far. The second one is at the top of the image…
